Winter Absurdities

So technically, now, California is in its fall season. The season were leaves are to create a symphony of oranges, browns and yellows upon our lawns. Painting our world once more into a portrait of harvestness and thanksgiving. But yet, I walk across campus and everything is still as green and vivid as spring. Girls are wearing their shorts and ugg outfits while the boy population still sport their board shorts and flip flops. I personally believe autumn to be the most inspiring and breath-taking season of all. But it decrease its magnificance when it is blotched with old summer images. This is California, the land of absurd weather. But once, just once, I'd like to have the perfect fall season here in Rialto.

Fall is my favorite season. I miss the East at this time of year -- the riot of colors, the falling leaves, the crisp smell in the air. I have tried going up the mountain to find some "Fall" -- but it's mostly pine trees up there and misses something still, though the weather feels righter. I keep promising myself I will do a Fall weekend some year and fly to New Hampshire or the Adirondack mountains and just be.
