Finals

First final of the year, BIOLOGY LAB 100. Not bad, but its exactly like a speed dating night. You sit at a station or table for 1 minute adn 30 seconds, the bell rings and your off to meet your next acquataince. I hope most finals are like this one, no brain busting but cardiac excersise! WHOOPY

Spending Cash in a Flash

In the beginning of the year I started out with $1,300 from graduation presents, birthday presents and a school scholarship. I was expecting a $789 financial aid return and a $625 scholarship from the CHCI. Bringing my total to $2714 plus an "allowance" from my boyfriend of $50 a week. Currently, my bank statement said I had $311 in my checking account. Where did all my money go? It's only been 2 and a halg months and I've spent approximately $2400. Some people say time flies by, but if your not checking and regulating your cash it's out the window.
This little tidbit might seem out of place, but think for one second: how many of those foreclosed homes owners spent their money the same way I did. Did they buy a house and not even regard how much in debt they would be because of the purchase. Did they stop to think.."Our contry is in a major fiscal deficit and my cash flow in is quite slow." Hmm...

Holiday Rituals and a little something Extra

Every holiday the majority of my family (near and far) come together in one families home and partake in the festivities. One family member is in charge of handing out food duties. Like who makes/brings what and how much. Then, on those holidays that it calls for, families are given a name of a child (13 years of age or younger) to bring a gift/present for. At any time you are free to bring extra gifts or party favors. Now, since I'm a mother to be, I will finally become part of the grown up (adult) rituals. I will be in-charge of bringing my famous lemon and ginger seasoned red potatoes and green beans for our Thanksgiving feast. I feel proud and honored to be allowed into this family tradition. But many of my other family members have a ting of broken heartedness due to the fact that I am an under age, un-wed mother taking on an unforgiving way of life (the same as many of them did just 18 years ago). They place false smiles on their faces to disguise their anguish but I see the melancholy deep in their eyes. Hopefully they will see that I am happy in my new situation and ready for anything that will come my way (with the help and support of those same people). I am looking forward to a joyous and blessed holiday season and I will wishing all of you the same.

Winter Absurdities

So technically, now, California is in its fall season. The season were leaves are to create a symphony of oranges, browns and yellows upon our lawns. Painting our world once more into a portrait of harvestness and thanksgiving. But yet, I walk across campus and everything is still as green and vivid as spring. Girls are wearing their shorts and ugg outfits while the boy population still sport their board shorts and flip flops. I personally believe autumn to be the most inspiring and breath-taking season of all. But it decrease its magnificance when it is blotched with old summer images. This is California, the land of absurd weather. But once, just once, I'd like to have the perfect fall season here in Rialto.
